Where does Alfred store my video?
Event and Moment
All your Events and Moment videos are saved on Alfred’s secure cloud. The storage period for Free and Premium users is 7 days and 14 days, respectively. Moments are kept on the cloud indefinitely unless you delete them. However, it does require minimal local storage for the Alfred app to run Motion Detections.
📱 For Android devices, Alfred requires 24-25 MB. If your device runs on Android 7.0 and up, Alfred will need around 40 MB of local storage to run all the APIs.
📱 For iOS devices, Alfred could take up anywhere from 24-32 MB of storage.
Playback footage (Continuous recording)
Your playback footage from the Continuous Recording is saved on your Camera's storage and recorded in an 8-hour loop that overwrites the oldest video with new footage. Free and Premium users require different device storage due to different video resolutions, and the recording loop could be shorter depending on the storage available on your device.
🎥 Free users: Minimum of 0.6 GB with 240p video resolution
🎥 Premium users: Minimum of 2.4 GB with 720p video resolution
⚠️ Note: If your device does not have the minimum free storage space listed above, your Continuous Recording loop may be shorter than 8 hours.
How many videos are allowed to save in Alfred’s cloud during the storage period?
Although your Event videos are only saved for a limited number of days, the good news is that there are no limits on the number of videos you can save during the storage period!
Is it safe to save my videos on Alfred’s cloud?
Your privacy and security are Alfred's top concerns. Therefore, Alfred has established strict policies and technical barriers, such as encrypted Live communications or Amazon as 3rd-party service providers to prevent any possible attack and unauthorized access to your data (know more).
Can I sync videos from Alfred to my personal cloud?
At the moment, Alfred saves all your videos on Alfred’s cloud and does not support sync videos to other cloud services yet. 🤧
Can my Camera devices still auto record and save video while it’s offline?
A stable network connection is critical for Alfred to work. Without a network connection, the Alfred app on your Camera device will not be able to run or record videos. If unfortunately, your Camera device is suddenly disconnected from the network (might also see a 7006 or 7007 error code on the Viewer device), Alfred will try to re-establish the network connection automatically. 🌐
What if I want to keep my videos for more than 7 days?
For Free users, Event videos will be saved on Alfred’s cloud for 7 days until they are expired and deleted from BOTH your Event Book and Alfred’s Cloud. Nevertheless, you can choose to manually save Events into your Moments or to your local storage during the period🚀
However, if you want to keep your Events longer and expand the saving period, you can upgrade to Alfred Premium to keep your Events for 14 days!
