Dear AlfredCamera Users,
Since Google is ending sign-in support for very old versions of Android next month, we are sad to inform you that the Camera mode on devices running Android 4.0.3 or below will no longer be available after September 27, 2021.
We understand that some of you might be disappointed and might experience difficulties using Alfred. However, to provide a safer service along with Google, we made this difficult decision and believe this should take your account privacy to the next level.
What will happen before and after the support ends?
Before the support ends, the device will continue to operate as a Camera with the same features. Meanwhile, on your Viewer device, you will see a snackbar on that specific Camera cell indicating the ending of service. After support ends for sign-in with Google, you won't be able to use the device as a Camera.
Here are some solutions for you
- Check and update your android version
If your device has the ability to update to a newer Android version (4.1+), we advise you to do so to keep using AlfredCamera on these devices. Learn how to update your Android version
- Use WebCamera on your computer.
If a system update is not available, go check out Alfred WebCamera: https://alfred.camera/webapp/camera
We appreciate your understanding and continuous support. We hope you can keep enjoying the service Alfred provides!
